Ms. Lê Vân Anh – TESOL Master's Graduate

WELE: Hello Vân Anh, could you introduce yourself briefly?
Hello everyone, I'm Vân Anh. I'm an English teacher, currently teaching IELTS in Hải Phòng. I've known about WELE since the early days, 10 years ago, WELE has helped me and my students improve our listening skills a lot.
WELE: In what situations have you used WELE's teacher feature (WELE Class)? Could you share your thoughts on WELE's tool for teachers?
I usually use WELE as a supplementary exercise for most of my English classes, at lower secondary, upper secondary, and IELTS level. Before listening, I explain and discuss the vocabulary that appears in the passage so students can visualize it more easily and find it easier to listen to. After listening, the whole class works together to find good structures and good vocabulary, adding synonyms, antonyms, collocations, and the correct context to use that vocabulary. On top of that, WELE's tools are really great, from creating fill-in-the-blanks listening exercises, teachers can also track how much time students spend practicing listening, as well as know the accuracy of the listening exercise, and especially, teachers and students will know the words/mistakes that students commonly make when listening, so they can find ways to improve from there.
WELE: Do you have any message for other teachers who are considering using WELE?
Dictation is a very effective method for improving listening skills. I myself have applied it to learn two languages and succeeded. So I hope more teachers will get to know WELE and apply it in their classrooms to achieve good results.
