From Zero to IELTS Listening 6.5: A 6-Month Roadmap With WELE

IELTS Listening band 6.5 requires you to answer correctly about 30-32/40 questions. Sounds difficult, but with the right roadmap and consistent practice, you can achieve it in 6 months.

This article will guide you through what to do each month.

Before Starting: Assess Your Level

Take a practice IELTS Listening test to know your starting point:

  • Below 4.0: Need to build basic foundation first
  • 4.0 - 5.0: Have foundation, need to improve speed and vocabulary
  • 5.0 - 6.0: Fairly good, need technique and accuracy practice

This roadmap is designed for those starting at 4.0-5.0. If you're below 4.0, spend an extra 2-3 months building foundation.

Final Advice

1. Consistency is key: 1 hour daily is better than 7 hours on weekends.

2. Analyze mistakes: Every error is a learning opportunity. Don't just check answers and move on.

3. Don't rush: If you haven't reached checkpoint goals, spend more time at that stage.

4. Realistic mock tests: 2 weeks before exam, do at least 3 full tests under real conditions.

6.5 Listening is not an impossible goal. With the right roadmap and persistence, you can achieve it. Good luck!
