Teacher Vương Thị Hoa — 9.0 IELTS Listening

WELE: Hi Hoa, could you introduce yourself a little?

Hello everyone, I'm Hoa. I'm an English teacher, currently teaching basic online English to primary and secondary school students. I've been lucky enough to work alongside WELE as an admin for 7 years, starting out writing the scripts for Spotlight lessons, then later guiding other members in writing lessons and updating the listening content on WELE.

WELE: In what situations have you used WELE Class's teacher feature? Could you share your thoughts on WELE's tool for teachers?

Since I teach online, keeping track of students' homework used to mean just having the kids send photos over Zalo. But ever since WELE developed features for Teachers, I've found that keeping track of students' homework is very easy. I can easily check whether students have submitted enough assignments, and what mistakes are in their work. The auto-grading feature helps reduce the workload for teachers, and also lets students see their results right after finishing listening to a lesson. This helps both students and teachers a lot. I also find the section for reviewing mis-heard words very convenient. Instead of simply learning that word in isolation, students get to listen to the whole sentence again to fill in the word, which helps develop both writing and listening skills, and makes it much easier for students to remember vocabulary in context.

WELE: Do you have any message for other teachers who are considering using WELE?

Hoa: I believe every English teacher should use WELE, especially teachers working with Beginner and Pre-intermediate levels. A sturdy house is always built on a solid foundation, and in the same way, I think dictation practice is the most solid foundation you can lay down in the process of learning English. With WELE, the tools for Teachers have been, are being, and will continue to be developed to the fullest to support both Teachers and students in the best way possible.
