Hey everyone, this week we continue to listen to Spotlight with the narration of admin Kiều Tiên. How long has it been since you admired the night sky and the Milky Way with thousands of stars? We cannot deny that artificial light is a representation of human civilization. However, this very light is making people gradually forget that there is a beautiful night sky right behind that brilliant light. Unlike air pollution, which can be observed and felt, light pollution is silently and dangerously affecting the environment and humanity. Light pollution impacts all life on Earth.

Nowadays, humans are surrounded by light - even at night. People need light to see. They need light to work and drive safely at night, and for many other things! However, scientists say that this light has adverse effects on living organisms - animals and humans. Among them, sea turtles and migratory birds are two species significantly affected by artificial light. The human body operates according to a biological clock. Therefore, artificial light at night can disrupt the body's biological rhythms. Light suppresses the production of melatonin in the brain (which helps the body maintain a normal sleep-wake cycle), leading to sleep-related disorders, increasing the risk of health problems.

Humans and animals need light, but they also need darkness. Experts say that humans must use light wisely. Only use the amount of light that you need. Don't assume that more light means better light. And it is vital to "TURN OFF WHEN NOT IN USE".

Wishing everyone a happy and energetic week!
