"Children today
The world tomorrow
That is a rhyme
Also a song
Children today, the world tomorrow
Let me remind you a thousand times more
The Earth has not silenced the sound of bombs falling
Let the refrain be a million times more
So many children are still hungry and in rags in this world."
The lyrics above must be familiar to many generations of us, right? After reading these words, can you guess the theme of our listening exercise today?
First of all, welcome to the new members who have joined the leading dictation family in Vietnam, WELEANs.
The program currently has more than 6000 members, and that number will continue to increase every day. Recently, the Admin team has received a lot of feedback from our members that when they first join, many actually find it difficult with long and challenging listening exercises as their listening skills are still not good; many have even lost patience and given up on continuing to practice with the program.
That's why today the program launches a special series for the new members of We Enjoy Learning English. Each listening passage is only about 5 minutes long, with not many new and difficult vocabulary.
This first listening will be an excerpt about the story of a Somali boy. He has to live in war and become AN ORPHAN because of the war. In HIS HORRIBLE STORY, he talked about HIS EXPERIENCE throughout THE CONTINUING SOMALI CIVIL WAR. The boy in the story also REPRESENTS ALL children in Somalia.
Wishing everyone a happy and energetic week!
