In the bustling atmosphere of the days leading up to Tet, this week we will hear about plans for the new year with the guidance of admin Kieu Tien. Tet Nguyen Dan is the most important holiday occasion in Vietnam. Tet is celebrated on the first day of the first month according to the Lunar Calendar in Vietnam and in a few other countries with Vietnamese communities. The day of Tet is considered a new beginning for new hopes, new efforts, and a new life in the future. And this is the time we begin to plan for what we will do in the new year, also known as New Year’s resolutions. People make promises to themselves about the plans or decisions they must implement in the new year. Common resolutions include eating healthy food, stopping smoking, paying back money that they owe, or becoming fluent in English.

However, what happens after some time has passed? Experts have researched and found that one week after the New Year, only 75% of people have kept their promises. This number drops to 65% after a month. Less than half of people keep their new year resolutions for more than six months. There are many reasons why they cannot keep their commitments to themselves, the primary cause being that they set goals that are too big or not clear. Some advice is that we should make our goals more realistic and more detailed. For example, “I will listen to and transcribe an English audio for 30 minutes each day.” Second, to help everyone remember their personal resolution, anyone who hasn’t set a resolution for this year can comment on this post, and ads will take note of it.
