Hey everyone, this week we return with 6 minute English along with the narration of admin Thu Hằng.

On the occasion of the Big Ben clock – a symbol of England tolling its final chimes before falling silent, WELE had a thought, “What would the world be like if all clocks stopped running?” Before we run out of time, WELE will speak really quickly! It seems we are all becoming slaves to time, as there are clocks everywhere, like on our phones, computers, microwaves, or at bus stops... It's hard to escape the grip of this god of time. So, if in the past, when mechanical timepieces hadn't been invented yet, how did people know about time? According to WELE's understanding, our ancestors often looked up at the sky and observed the position of the sun, moon, and stars changing. This way, they would know the changing seasons of the year, when to plant crops, when to harvest, and the rainy season would begin around what time...

However, observing these natural phenomena is only relatively accurate, not always precise. On the other hand, the author also mentions that being too precise about time can have negative effects and limit what we do, similar to being tied up.

Tick tock tick tock, time's up!!! Everything is happening so fast, hope you will learn many interesting things about clocks.

P.s: My favorite is the pendulum clock because watching it swing back and forth is so fun hehe.
