Hello everyone! This week we will discuss MENTAL HEALTH at the WORKPLACE with 6 Minute English.
To be honest, this is a very difficult issue to see with the naked eye because there are no PHYSICAL SIGNS like other INJURIES. The issue of mental health is one of the most pressing ISSUES as it not only severely affects those who are suffering but also impacts the companies.
Moreover, statistics show that the cost to ADDRESS it is COLOSSAL. However, even though a lot of money has been spent, companies and individuals are FAILING TO ADDRESS this issue adequately. This leads to STAFFS/ CONTRIBUTORS resigning when their mental health is drained, and the company will have to spend a lot more money to RECRUIT and TRAIN new staff.
Luckily, in recent years, people have started to understand mental health issues not only at the workplace but also in society in general. And as more people share their stories, this issue begins to NORMALISE again. Stories are like LIFEBOATS to pull those who are suffering in silence out of this issue. They will CLING ON TO stories that resemble their lives, and from there, they realize they are not alone in their suffering.
So, have you ever experienced a serious impact on your mental health? Let WELE know! And don't forget to send your article to WELE.
Wishing everyone a happy and energetic week!
